PREP

Trying to locate the full spectrum of training that’s available for you and your staff? Look no further. The five associations of college and university business officers (CACUBO, EACUBO, NACUBO, SACUBO, and WACUBO) have joined together to create PREP (Professional Resources and Events Planner), a single, comprehensive destination for your training and professional development needs.

The new, online database connects you to workshops, institutes, publications, effective practices, Web sites, and more. PREP organizes and displays programs, products, and services developed and delivered primarily by the five associations. The rich archive of materials is enhanced by articles, books, and products created by other higher education associations and corporate partners.

We’ve designed the site to be useful for professionals seeking specific, continuing education opportunities. The tool is particularly useful for creating a customized plan for ongoing professional development.  For supervisors, it provides guidance by aligning resources with the key competencies identified by association members.

To start using PREP, go to www.nacuboprep.org/. You can search the site by clicking on each of five tabs:

  1. Resources, where you’ll find articles, book chapters, books, CD-Roms, effective practices, listservers, research, subscriptions services, webcasts, and web sites.
  2. Events, which can be searched by location, topic, ACUBO sponsor, other organization sponsor, and past events.
  3. Learn by Topic, where you can select by competency categories: organizational, personal, and technical.
  4. Career Path, where you can select chief business officer or staff in the business office.
  5. Calendar, where you can select a calendar format or a list view.

In addition, you can search by key word, entering terms that will call up all the products or services associated with that particular concept.

Using the PREP framework, the five sponsoring organizations can create and share professional development programs that respond to, support, and are unique to the needs of higher education administrators. We encourage you to explore this new resource to support your professional development and provide growth opportunities for your staff.
