Changing Roles in Higher Education

  • Karen Pedano has been promoted to Assistant Controller at Widener University
  • Mary Glasscock has been promoted to Director of Operating and Capital Planning at Georgetown University Medical Center
  • Julie L. Dolan, formerly the associate vice president of fiscal affairs at Dartmouth College, is now Vice President of Finance at Fairfield University. Dolan will assume the responsibilities held since 1983 by William Lucas, who is retiring after 41 years of service to Fairfield.
  • Jenni Sauer has been promoted to Associate Vice President for Business and Finance at the University of Richmond.
  • Laurie Melville, formerly Controller at Case Western, is the new Controller at the University of Richmond.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Margaret Ferber recently received the Financial Executive of the Year, Non-Profit Category, sponsored by the Rochester Business Journal and Financial Executives Institute.
  • John Palmucci recently received the John Henry Newman medal at Loyola's Spring 2010 Commencement. The medal recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves as exemplars of Catholic education.
  • Ann Spencer recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the Virginia Tech Alumni Association at the Virginia Tech Spring 2010 Commencement.
  • Fred Rogers, Vice President and Treasurer at Carleton College, and the Carleton endowment team have been recognized with a 2010 U.S. Investment Management Award from Institutional Investor magazine.
