Changing Roles in Higher Education

  • Robert Specter will become the Vice President for Administrative Affairs & CFO at the University of Maryland effective September 1.
  • Dr. Jane Gates is the new Provost for Western Connecticut State University.
  • Ben Hammond, Executive Director of Finance and Administrative services for Princeton University’s Facilities Organization, has been selected as Mount Holyoke's new Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer. Read the full article here.
  • Keith Finan is the new CFO at Deerfield Academy, Deerfield MA
  • F. Robert Huth, Executive Vice President at Middlebury College, has accepted a position at Stetson University as the Vice President for Business and CFO starting July 25, 2011
  • Jenni Sauer, Associate VP for Business and Finance at the University of Richmond, will become the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Immaculata University in Malvern, Pennsylvania effective July 8, 2011
  • Randy Gentzler, vice president for business and finance at Philadelphia University will become the VP Finance and Treasurer at Loyola University Maryland on May 16, 2011
  • Jim Fisher, formerly the Vice President for Finance and Administration at Wilson College, will become the VP for Administration and Finance at Finger Lakes Community College effective May 18, 2011
  • Karen Pedano has been promoted to Assistant Controller at Widener University
  • Mary Glasscock has been promoted to Director of Operating and Capital Planning at Georgetown University Medical Center
  • Julie L. Dolan, formerly the associate vice president of fiscal affairs at Dartmouth College, is now Vice President of Finance at Fairfield University. Dolan will assume the responsibilities held since 1983 by William Lucas, who is retiring after 41 years of service to Fairfield.
  • Laurie Melville, formerly Controller at Case Western, is the new Controller at the University of Richmond.

  • Karen VanDerhoof, Vice President of Business and Finance at the County College of Morris is the recipient of the NACUBO 2011 Distinguished Business Officer Award.
  • Barbara H. Morris, Director of Tax and International Business at Johns Hopkins University is the recipient of the NACUBO 2011 Tax Award.
