EACUBO Announces General Session Speakers:
The opening keynote will be delivered by Erin Gruwell, an educator and catalyst for social change. Erin has earned an award-winning reputation for her steadfast commitment to the future of education. Her impact as a change agent runs deep. So deep, in fact, that her story attracted Hollywood’s attention. In January 2007, Paramount Pictures released Freedom Writers, starring two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank as Gruwell. The film is based on The Freedom Writers Diary, The New York Times bestseller that chronicled Gruwell’s extraordinary journey with 150 high school students who had been written off by the education system.
Dr. Peter Facione, an expert on critical thinking and decision making, will be presenting as a General Session speaker at the 2011 EACUBO Annual Meeting. Dr. Facione is a principal at Measured Reasons LLC, a Los Angeles based research and consulting firm supporting excellence in strategic thinking and leadership decision making. Not only will Peter be presenting to all of the attendees at a general session, but he will also lead a concurrent session that will take a deeper dive into his topic for a smaller audience. Be sure to look for announcements regarding this additional session in your inbox shortly! Click here for Dr. Peter Facione's full biography.
On Tuesday, November 1, Richard S. Shreve, Adjunct Professor of Business Ethics at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth will speak to the EACUBO Annual Meeting attendees about the ethical dilema's that business officers in higher education face.
Our closing General session will be lead by Dr. Robert V. Antonucci, President of Fitchburg State University and the former Massachusetts State Commissioner of Education. Click here to read Dr. Robert V. Antonucci's Biography.
