FROM THE EDITOR
As I look back, this has been a very good year
for the Eastern Association of College and University
Business Officers. We started off with a highly
successful Annual Meeting in Chicago, successful
both in terms of program as well as financially.
Kudos to Barry Cohen, Rita Murdoch, and the rest
of their committee. The Annual Workshop was held
in Providence, RI for the first time and this proved
to be a great location with attendance well above
the level budgeted. Steve Gattuso and the Workshop
committee did a great job. Then in June we saw the
return of the Senior Business Officers Roundtable
after a two-year hiatus, thanks to the special efforts
of Joe Grasso. As described in a special article
in this issue, twenty-five senior business officers
gathered in Philadelphia for two days of discussion
and decision-making. Finally, the EACUBO-Cornell
Administrative Management Institute held in July
had a significant increase in attendance over prior
years and was well received by those attending.
AMI is the only-of-its-kind program, specifically
aimed at college, division, and departmental administrative
managers.
Add to this, an impressive array of professional
development programs offered by the various area
programming committees throughout our region
and its clear that this was a year when EACUBO
lived up to its prime purpose of offering our
members an impressive catalog of opportunities for
upgrading
their professional skills as well as networking
opportunities galore. Let’s hope for even
bigger and better happenings in 2006–2007.
Hope to see many of you in Boca Raton.
