Steve L. Robbins, Ph.D.
Dr. Steve L. Robbins is the founder and owner of S.L. Robbins and Associates, a consulting firm on issues of human behavior based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company serves a growing variety of local and national clients. As a keynote speaker and author, Dr. Robbins has had the opportunity to assist major corporations and clients throughout the world, such as Disney, Walmart, NASA, Caterpillar, Boeing, Microsoft, Gap Inc., Michelin, Toyota, and Daimler-Benz.
Before starting S.L. Robbins and Associates, Dr. Robbins was a professor at Aquinas College where he shared his vision and passion for inclusion with his students. He is a specialist in communication, socio-psychology and cognitive neuroscience. Dr. Robbins works with organizations and consults them on creating new solutions and conversations centered on an inclusive workplace. He is the author of “What If? Short Stories to Spark Diversity Dialogue,” which is now used by numerous organizations and schools to invite people into deeper conversations about diversity, inclusion and the power of caring.
Dr. Robbins earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Calvin College, and his masters and doctorate degrees in Communication Science from Michigan State University. When he is not traveling, Dr. Robbins spends time rooting for the Michigan State Spartans. He loves spending time with his incredible wife and four talented children.
Kimberly Wright Cassidy, Ph.D.
Kimberly Wright Cassidy has served as President of Bryn Mawr College since 2014. A developmental psychologist, Dr. Cassidy served as the College’s Provost from 2007-2013, and has been a member of the Psychology Department since 1993.
Dr. Cassidy has promoted academic innovation and has partnered with faculty to develop new multi- and interdisciplinary academic programs and to advance new approaches to teaching in a liberal arts context.
Dr. Cassidy led development of Excellence in Action, a strategic vision for Bryn Mawr’s undergraduate college, as well as initiatives to enhance the College’s distinctive, select graduate programs. She has also forged a broad institutional commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Her presidency has been marked by strong fiscal management and growth in financial resources. In the past academic year Bryn Mawr’s endowment topped $1 billion, and the College completed its most successful fundraising campaign in history.
Dr. Cassidy is a public advocate for gender equity, with a focus on equity issues in STEM disciplines and workplaces.
She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and bachelor’s degree with distinction in psychology from Swarthmore College.
Michelle Gielan has spent the past decade researching the link between happiness and success. She is the bestselling author of Broadcasting Happiness: The Science of Igniting and Sustaining Positive Change and was named one of the Top 10 authors on resilience by the Harvard Business Review.
Michelle is an Executive Producer of “The Happiness Advantage” on PBS and a featured professor in Oprah’s Happiness course. She formerly served as anchor of The CBS Morning News, and her research has received attention from dozens of media outlets including The Washington Post, FORBES, and The New York Times.
Michelle holds an advanced degree in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Tufts University in Computer Engineering.
