Lynne Schaefer currently serves as Program Advisor to the NACUBO Fellows Program and served as Interim CEO of NACUBO from 2022 to 2023. Retired in 2022 after a 30+ year career in higher education, she spent 25 years as a chief business officer, most recently at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and previously at Wayne State University and Oakland University. Earlier in her career, she worked for the State of Michigan in Management and Budget, Treasury, and the Governor’s office. She has previously served on the boards of both EACUBO and NACUBO, and as chair of both. A competitive bridge player, struggling golfer, and avid world traveler, she brings curiosity, strategy, and a sense that anything is possible to everything she does.
