Corey J. Watson, MBA is an executive in higher education with over a decade of experience shaping financial strategy and advancing operational excellence within the University of Maine System. Currently serving as the Interim Chief Business Officer at the University of Maine at Augusta, Corey previously held the role of Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration at the University of Maine. Throughout his career, Corey has been a collaborative and transparent leader dedicated to fostering financial health and aligning administrative functions with the core academic mission. He approaches complex fiscal landscapes with a strategic, multi-year mindset, ensuring that both strategy and finances position the institution for long-term success.

Dedicated to aligning administrative functions with the core academic mission, Corey serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on capital investment, strategic resource allocation, and organizational effectiveness. He is a 2024–2025 cohort member of the NACUBO Emerging Leaders Program and holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maine, as well as an associate's degree in business management from Eastern Maine Community College.
