Dan Greenstein

Chancellor, Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education

Greenstein is CEO of Pennsylvania’s public university system serving more than 90,000 students, and leading a redesign focused on expanding opportunities for all while meeting the state’s workforce development needs. Greenstein’s previous roles include Director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s postsecondary success strategy and Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Programs for the University of California.  He has also led internet services, served on boards and engaged in strategic consulting. A professional historian by training, Greenstein holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees (UPenn) and a D.Phil. (Oxford). An enthusiastic cyclist, swimmer, voracious reader, and occasional traveler, Dan and his wife, Melissa, live in a tidy turn-of-the-century (1901) row house in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
