Lauren Barredo

Chief of Staff, New York Climate Exchange

Lauren is Chief of Staff at the Exchange, where she supports the CEO and senior staff on cross-organizational projects, improving operations, and stakeholder engagement.

Lauren has 15 years of experience in international environmental work. Previously she was Chief of Staff of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a special initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General that mobilizes the academic and research community in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Lauren supported diverse projects including the Science Panel for the Amazon, The World in 2050, The Lancet COVID-19 Commission, and 50 national- and regional-level networks of research institutions.

Lauren has also held positions at Columbia University, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and the Yale University Herbarium. She has a Master's Degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment and two Bachelor's Degrees from American University.
