Terrence M. Gilbride is the Principal and Founding Partner of The Gilbride Law Group and a seasoned attorney focused on higher education, real estate and construction law. Terry has extensive experience in sports facility development, public-private partnerships, and higher education capital projects. Prior to forming The Gilbride Law Group, Terry served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for the Buffalo Bills. Prior to his tenure in the NFL, he was a senior partner at Hodgson Russ LLP, Buffalo’s oldest and largest law firm, where he chaired the Real Estate Development, College & University, and Public-Private Partnership Practice Groups. Terry’s practice is centered on large-scale commercial real estate development, public-private partnerships, and sports facility leasing and construction. He currently represents the Buffalo Bills in the development and construction of the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. He also advised the Buffalo Sabres and their affiliate entities on the development and construction of HarborCenter, a major sports and entertainment complex on the Buffalo waterfront. Terry has represented numerous colleges, universities and affiliated non-profit foundations and entities in conjunction with real estate development and compliance matters. Terry has served as lead counsel on more than 50 higher education capital projects in over 16 states, including projects for The College of William and Mary, University of Minnesota, Georgia Board of Regents, University at Buffalo, Binghamton University, SUNY Canton, Buffalo State College and SUNY Purchase. Notably, Terry created a model for financing and developing privatized student housing on SUNY campuses, a framework that has been successfully implemented across 17 projects at 6 different SUNY campuses. Terry is a current trustee of Saint Bonaventure University and a trustee of the University at Buffalo Foundation. Terry is also a special advisor to the President of Daemen University, where he previously served as a trustee for seven years. |
