MJ Knoll-Finn - New York University

Small and large institutions that have international students or are thinking about enrolling these students are facing rising volatility in international student enrollment, challenging their ability to manage the risks related to tuition revenue and institutional budgets. Higher education leaders are challenged to adapt their enrollment management and financial planning practices to manage federal policy shifts, evolving global trends, government policy changes in other countries and increasing competition.

Our panel of distinguished experts—leaders in higher education risk management, enrollment strategy, and international student services—will share their views on the latest developments and share actionable strategies for building institutional resilience.

Panelists will present real world examples of how universities have assessed their exposure, evaluated risk, and implemented creative solutions to ensure institutional stability in turbulent times. Through an engaging combination of presentation, discussion,  and audience Q&A, participants will have an opportunity to learn from peers and experts alike.

This session is meant to be practical and collaborative—a space for conversation about what institutions are facing and how they’re finding ways forward. Whether an institution is just starting to consider these issues or looking to compare strategies, they will have the chance to learn and share with peers who understand the current challenges in international education.
